Project history: May 2005 : The project was concieved but no name was given yet. June 2005 : The name "LEX PARETO" notes was given to the project. July 2005 : Members for the project were recruited. September 2005 : - Guidelines for the making of the project was drafted - The first Lex Pareto project meeting was conducted, right after the last Mock bar exams for the 1st semester. October 3, 2005 Work on the Lex Pareto notes officially commence. Team members struggle to keep up with the deadline given. October 21, 2005 Launching of Lex Pareto website October 28, 2005 Lex Pareto notes was verbally endrosed by Dean Mangingsay November 1, 2005, Teuesday The first Lex Pareto Notes is printed on the subject of legal ethics and practical exercises. November 2, 2005, Wednesday Dean Manginsay agrees to be the Senior adviser of the project and approves the draft letter of authority in order that the team might be able to secure advisers for each subject. November 10, 2005 - Thursday The lex Pareto website has been improved. A guest book and the pages "Message from the Project coordinator," "Lex Pareto notes," and "Other projects" were added. Some changes were also done to the other pages of the website November 19, 2005 - Saturday Lex Pareto notes with the permission of the SOLAS governor launches the "2006 bar exams countdown" which started on November 26, 2005. It will 284 days till the 2006 bar exams starting from that date. The bar countdown not only gives a countdown but also each page contains an inspirational quote. This is intended to inspire those taking the 2006 bar exams and pressure them to utilize their time wisely. You can see the countdown when you enter the law office. Sometime in November Judge Tomas Nonay, currently teaching Legal Ethics in the college, agrees to edit the reviewer in LEGAL ethics 1st week of December The Lex pareto notes project coordinator condenses the "Observations on the 1980 bar exams" by Justice Herrera and secures the approval of Dean Mingansay to have it posted in all rooms of the college of law. This article will help those taking the 2006 bar exams reflect on the mistakes committed by those taking the bar in 1980. Even though this is a very old report, but the same timeless principles still applies. 2nd week of December Fiscal Lumanta, one of our best teachers in the college in the subject of Criminal law, agrees to go over the Pareto notes criminal law. December 18, 2005 Prof. Abelardo Domondon, famous author, bar topnotcher and a bar exam reviewer and an authority in the subject of TAXATION endorses the project and writes the foreword. Prof. Domondon is considered as the one who planted the seeds of the idea the made the project possible. He is a source of inspiration for us and has given us a lot of advices on how to expand the project in the future. He even encouraged us to have the work published. We can truly say that "If we have seen further . . . ", he is one of the"biggest giants" whose shoulders we have stood upon. January 6, 2006 - Friday The project coordinator post "Meet the 2006 bar exams chairman" and "So how does bar exam topnotchers answer bar exam questions" in the bulletin board in order to help cultivate a culture of excellence in the college. It features the actual handwriting of 3 bar topnotchers and how they answered the bar exam questions. One of the answer shown was that of Prof. Domondon, 1985 bar topnotcher. The bulletin at the same time compels those who will be taking the bar to reflect on how they should present their answers when taking the bar. Janauary 7, 2006 - Saturday Since the SOLAS (Society of Law students) still does not have a constitution, Governor Orayan has appointed Rep. Barnsbey Cagang to head the commission. Three of the LEX PARETO team members were chosen to become a part of the commission of nine. One of the provisions suggested by the PARETO team is that the job of making reviewers and materials for the bar candidates should be transferred from the BAR OPERATIONS to a separate committee (A research committee), in order that the academic side of bar preparations should be given more focus. The commission has preliminarily agreed to approve the proposal. This is a very important matter for the LEX PARETO NOTES, since this will determine the future of the project. The website has also been updated to include, "FOREWORD by Prof. Domondon", "About the authors" and a sneak preview in criminal law. Updates on the project has been added as well. January 10, 2006 The Lex Pareto notes CIVIL law is being edited by Dean Jonah Villagonzalo Sometime in Feburary Dean Villagonzalo finishes editing of the CIVIL LAW lex pareto notes February 12, 2006 Prof. Samson Alcantara, Bar exam top notcher (3rd place, 1957), Labor law reviewer, President of the LEX REVIEWS AND SEMINARS and founder of the ABAKADA Guro teacher's party list, endorses the Lex pareto notes. February 13, 2006 The Lex Pareto team had their pictorial. All of the author's profile has been submitted. February 14, 2006 The first final output of the LEX PARETO NOTES has been printed and will be released this week. Hot off the press this week is volume IV - Remedial law / Legal ethics and practical exercises. A publicity release has been posted at the school bulletin board informing the public what the Lex pareto notes is all about. Students were ecstatic about the project and were asking how much is the cost of the notes and when will all of the volumes be released. The Lex pareto webiste is updated containg the author's profile, new pictures for the home page and revising the project updates. March 9, 2006 Volume IV has been selling like hotcakes ever since it has been released. The Bar operations committee throught it's chariman Mr. Rey Beluso has reported that all of the copies they produced are sold and there are still more students asking for copies. There are even non-SWU students inquiring about the Lex pareto notes. The Lex pareto team has requested the SWU official website webmaster to include a link in the college of law to the Lex Pareto notes project. After several weeks of waiting, the link has finally been aproved. Now, visitors visiting the SWU college of law official website can click on the link for the Pareto notes project. March 10, 2006 Volume II (Civil and taxation) has been released. The Lex Pareto team has posted a publicity for the release in the SWU college of law bulletin board. March 19, 2006 - Sunday Professor Gafar Lutian a bar topnotcher and a bar reviewer in Civil and Mercantile law takes a look at the Pareto notes. He says it's a very good project and plans to endrose it after he has reviewed it in detail. March 20, 2006 - Monday Members of the Lex Pareto team are given Certificate of Appreciation during the graduation ceremony for producing the 1st ever bar review material in the SWU college of law. March 21, 2006 - Teusday Volume III (Mercantile law and Cirminal law) has finally been printed. It will be endorsed soon to be the bar operations and will be made available to the public by the last week of March.
